Trapeze Paraglider

The idea of hanging a trapeze underneath a paraglider starts to grow
in Sandrine Duquesne's mind after her first paraglider training session in 1997.

She creates the show with Alexis Coudurier, pilot and instructor at the Prévol school.

Their first trials take place in 2000 at Chamrousse (France) on a 1300 metres downfly spot.

After further testing, improving the concept, enhancing the technique
and finding the correct synchronisation,
their first public appearance took place in September the same year
during the Icare Cup, a free-style flying festival at Saint-Hilaire du Touvet.

In 2004, the Icare Cup asks them to reproduce the exploit.

The festival has sponsored the show and staged it in five occurences.

Sandrine has further developed the concept and designed an aerial ballet
with two paragliders and two trapezes.

« It is not only the extreme figures
which makes the show.
As such, during the Icare Cup, the artists from Kirkas Gaya
have offered a beautiful moment of emotion,
whirling and spining on their flying trapezes.»
